Description: 1971 Husqvarna 400CR Vintage motocross motorcycle, AHRMA This bike is now on ebay. You can go to eBay and search Item ID Number 4575989695 VIN # off frame MI 3641 # off engine 404401m. The bike is in very good condition for it’s age and would be an excellent bike to do a full restoration on. It starts on the first or second kick. It even started after only two kicks when I pulled it out of it’s 25 year storage. It has been in storage for the last 25 years and wasn’t used much before that, back to about 1977. Things that I know were done to it back when it was driven include; bearings and seals in the engine, a new Motoplat ignition system, a new Mukini carburetor (not the correct one that came on the bike), new fenders, new gas tank (the tank was recently repainted), new rear tire, new seat cover. Things it needs would depend on whether you want to do a restoration or just use the bike as a dirt bike. If you just want to use it as a dirt bike, I would suggest doing a top end, replace the dust seals on the forks, make sure the carb. is ok, see if you want to replace the chain and sprockets now, check to see if the tires are ok for your needs as the rear has like new tread but has some cracks and the front is probably the original Trelliborg that came on the bike new (has plenty of tread). The bike was painted to prevent rust (not as a restoration). The fenders had vinyl paint applied previously and has come off in a few spots. If you plan on doing a restoration, I think you should know what that entails but I will mention that you also probably would want to put the original Bing carb. back on and trade the newer gas tank for an original 1971 tank and cap so it is stock. Also find a rear rim as this one has a dented spot. You can see full page photos of this bike by going to http://www.zorpia.com/mxer33 click on the bike and photo you want and then click download original. Download the video to hear and see it running at http://www.spread-it.com/dl.php?id=2b9 64fabc2770ec9d5 57a063b1ec09f0a282fe51 Just click on download, may or may not have to enter the code. Good Luck bidding.
